Zelenskyy says Ukraine closer to end of war with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed optimism about the conclusion of the war with Russia, stating that the end is closer than many might think.

In an interview, Zelenskyy highlighted the importance of strengthening Ukraine's military capabilities with the help of its allies. He emphasized that this support is crucial for pushing Russian President Vladimir Putin towards peace, pointing out that Putin is increasingly unable to protect his own territory, which has weakened his position.

Zelenskyy's remarks came during his visit to the United States, where he presented a detailed victory plan to President Joe Biden and other key political figures. This plan includes securing Western security guarantees, continuing operations in the Kursk region, and requesting military aid and financial support from international partners. Zelenskyy believes that decisive actions taken this autumn could significantly impact the war's trajectory, stressing that a lack of support could prolong the conflict unnecessarily.
